The Russian State Institute of Dramatic Art is preparing to conclude cooperation agreements with the Academy of Theater and the Moroccan Conservatory.
During a meeting in Rabat with the head of the arts department at the Moroccan Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs and Communications, Hicham Abgary, the head of the Russian Institute of Dramatic Art, Grigory Zaslassky, announced their intention to build fruitful cooperation relations with Moroccan theater institutions, in the first agreement of its kind on the African continent.
“We are looking on the African continent for countries with which cooperation may be useful, and Morocco is one of those countries because the Kingdom is a country with a well-developed theatrical culture,” Zaclavsky said.
Zaclavsky stressed that these agreements will enable the implementation of annual programs that include many activities aimed at exchanging experiences in the theatrical field and opening up to the artistic cultures of the two countries.
These agreements include the exchange of students and teachers, theatrical performances, workshops, and graphic lessons, with the aim of deepening understanding and enhancing artistic cooperation between the two countries.
Zaslaskovsky said he is looking forward to sending graduates of the Russian Institute to Morocco to perform at the Moroccan Theatre Academy.
“We want to show our Moroccan partners that cooperation with Russia can be beneficial to them, and I hope that they will be convinced of that, and that cooperation will progress,” Zaclavsky concluded.
