The Egyptian National Food Safety Authority revealed that Russia topped the list of countries from which the country imports foodstuffs during the past week.
The authority revealed that 5,085 food messages, represented by 255,000 tons, were issued by 1,580 exporting companies.
Potatoes emerged as one of the most important exported Egyptian vegetables with a quantity of more than 42,000 tons, followed by a variety of frozen vegetables with a total of 11,000 tons, as well as beans with 7,000 tons, and the total number of exported vegetable varieties reached 65 varieties with about 66,000 tons.
It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Spain were the most prominent recipients of Egyptian exports during the past week, out of 163 importing countries.
Last week, Alexandria Port topped the list of the main ports receiving Egyptian food messages with 805 messages, followed by Cairo Airport Port with 707 messages, and Safaga Port with a total of 660 messages.
The number of food consignments received reached 1690 messages of about 430 thousand tons for 664 importing companies, varying between 136 varieties of wheat, soybeans, and various oils from 72 countries, most notably Ukraine, America, Brazil, and Indonesia.
