Russian Ambassador to Mauritania Boris Zelko said Russia is ready to support Mauritania in the field of food security.

This came during talks with Mauritanian Commissioner for Food Security, Fatima bint Khatri, in the presence of the adviser in charge of cooperation at the Commission, Mustapha Ould Cheikh Abdallahi, and the third secretary at the Russian embassy in the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott, Edward Lekin.

The meeting dealt with the existing cooperation relations between Nouakchott and Moscow, and ways to strengthen and develop them, especially in the field of food security.

Zelko expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Mauritanian government in the field of food security and support for vulnerable classes, stressing Russia’s readiness to support Mauritania in the field of food security, within the framework of the existing relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
