The military parade kicked off in Red Square in central Moscow to mark the 79th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany and its allies in World War II.

Military soldiers participating in the Russian military operation in Ukraine and dozens of vehicles, helicopters, and warplanes of all kinds, including strategic bombers carrying missiles and nuclear bombs, participated in the parade.

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the military participating and present on Victory Day, in which he congratulated Russian citizens and military forces on the anniversary of Victory Day, noting that the strategic forces are ready and always ready to fight.

President Putin stressed that his country will do everything in its power to prevent any global clash and will not allow anyone to threaten, declaring Moscow’s rejection of the demands of any country or alliance for exclusivity.

Victory Day is a national holiday in which Russia and a number of former Soviet republics celebrate the surrender of Nazi Germany in World War Two.

This surrender took place on the evening of May 9, 1945, and was preceded by another surrender signed by the German leadership with the Allies.

The Soviet government announced Germany’s surrender on May 9, with May 9 each year becoming a day celebrated by the Soviet Union, followed by Russia’s victory over Nazi Germany.

In this context, Russian forces organized at the Hmeimim base in the countryside of Latakia, northwestern Syria, a military parade for Russian forces, on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the Victory Day over Nazism.
