Yesterday, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Russia celebrated Russia Day, which is considered one of the most important national holidays in the country, as it commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Russian State Sovereignty on June 12, 1990.

Celebrations across the country witnessed an atmosphere full of joy, as crowds gathered in Red Square to attend the large concert in which many famous Russian artists participated.

The ceremony was distinguished by wonderful musical performances and various artistic performances that impressed the audience, in addition to dazzling fireworks displays in the sky of Moscow, adding an atmosphere of joy and excitement to the city.

In St. Petersburg, the city witnessed many cultural and entertainment events, including art exhibitions and musical performances in public places, and other cities such as Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg organized sports events and popular competitions to celebrate the occasion.

Many Russians took advantage of this day as an opportunity to spend time with family and friends in parks and gardens, where entertainment events and activities for children were held, which added an atmosphere of fun and social communication among citizens.

Russian President, Vladimir Putin, gave an official speech in the Kremlin in which he stressed the importance of this day in strengthening national unity and pride in Russian identity, in addition to distributing awards to prominent figures who contributed to the development of the fields of science, culture and arts in the country.

Russian President Vladimir Putin received many congratulations from a number of countries and governments, including Iran, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Syria, Turkey, Algeria, Morocco, Libya, and Oman, which reflects broad support from countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

In Libya, an official reception was held at the Radisson Blu Mahari Hotel to celebrate the Russian National Day, The event was attended by Libyan officials, accredited diplomatic representatives, social and political circles, business sectors, and citizens.

During the ceremony, the Russian Ambassador to Libya, Ivan Molotkov, stated that this event is part of the “Return to Life and Stability in Libya” program initiated by the Libyan Government of National Unity.

In Russian embassies around the world, many events were organized to celebrate Russia Day. In Washington, D.C., the Russian Embassy held a ceremony attended by diplomats, prominent figures from the Russian community, and friends of Russia. The event included cultural performances and welcome speeches.
