Brazilian star Ronaldinho arrived in the Libyan city of Benghazi to participate in the Benghazi Summer Festival, which kicks off today, Thursday.
The festival is being held at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium, and includes a variety of sports, cultural and artistic events, with the opening ceremony witnessing the attendance of six Arab rap stars, in addition to a special appearance by Argentine football legend Batistuta.
The festival program includes a group of sports activities such as a football and beach football championship, in addition to hurdle jumping, sailing, and freestyle swimming competitions, and there is a competition dedicated to electronic games that is expected to witness wide international participation.
The festival was opened yesterday evening, Wednesday, with a march that took place in the streets of Benghazi with the participation of the Libyan Prime Minister, Osama Hamad, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and Faraj Aqaim. The opening ceremony included scouting shows and others by sports car and motorbike riders.
Gabriel Batistuta and Ronaldinho will meet in this festival outside the international competition that brought them together, whether in the Copa America Cup or the World Cup qualifiers or other friendly matches.
