Egypt’s exports of pearls, precious stones and jewelry ranked first on the list of the largest imports to the UAE recently, according to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
The data revealed that Egypt’s pearl exports to the UAE amounted to about $260.3 million last April, compared to $15.9 million in April 2023, representing an increase of $244.4 million.
The data showed that the value of trade exchange between Egypt and the UAE rose to $1 billion during the first quarter of 2024, compared to $901.6 million in the same period of 2023, an increase of 12.5%.
The value of Egyptian exports to the UAE recorded $380.1 million during the first quarter of 2024, a slight increase of 0.3% compared to $379 million in the same period of the previous year.
In contrast, the value of Egyptian imports from the UAE increased to $634.5 million during the first quarter of 2024, compared to $522.7 million in the same period in 2023, representing an increase of 21.4%.
The data also indicated that Emirati investments in Egypt reached $2.1 billion during the first half of fiscal year 2023/2024, compared to $1.5 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year, an increase of 41.1%.
