An Israeli report revealed on Tuesday that the United States has rejected an Israeli request for additional Apache fighter jets.
The Israeli website “Ynet” mentioned that the request was made to the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) in recent weeks, as Israeli Defense Minister, Yaakov Golan, raised it during his meetings with his US counterpart, Lloyd Austin, during the latter’s visit to Israel last week.
Security sources said no final decision had been made on the potential acquisition and that Israel continued to exert pressure.
U.S. military aid to Tel Aviv since the outbreak of the war against Gaza has risen to the highest level since the 1973 October War.
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth recently revealed that the United States has sent more than 230 cargo planes and 20 ships loaded with weapons to Israel since October 7.
