Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz expressed his happiness to represent his country and welcome his fans with love, as he stressed that he feels that he is “the happiest man in the world”.
Diaz, who decided to represent Morocco instead of Spain, stressed his commitment to do his utmost to support the Atlas Lions team and strive for fruitful achievements in the near future.
He thanked Morocco, expressing his gratitude for “this love and strong feelings”, in addition to promising the Moroccan fans to give everything in his country’s national team.
Diaz is expected to play for Morocco next Friday against Angola in a friendly in Agadir.
Brahim Diaz, 24, was born in Malaga, Spain, to a father of Moroccan origin and a Spanish mother and holds dual Spanish and Moroccan citizenship.
Brahim Diaz is not the first player of Moroccan origin and other nationality to decide to represent the Moroccan national team, and he was preceded by other players such as Achraf Hakimi, Hakim Ziyech, Sofiane Amrabat, Amine Adly and others.
