Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been deployed extensively in the town of Al-Suki in Sudan’s Sennar State, leading to mass displacement to Sennar City, sources said.

The country has been witnessing a continuous escalation in violence and chaos since April 15, 2023, as clashes between the Sudanese army and the RSF escalate, leading to an unprecedented humanitarian crisis that is forcing civilians to flee their homes.

A new report by Human Rights Watch revealed that the RSF has committed widespread rape in Khartoum, including gang rape and forced marriage.

Laetitia Bader, deputy Africa director at Human Rights Watch, said that the RSF has committed these crimes against women and girls in residential areas of the Sudanese capital, exacerbating the harm women face and their sense of having no safe place.

The deteriorating situation requires an urgent response from the international community and humanitarian organizations to help those affected and protect civilians as the crisis escalates.
