Gasoline prices in Arab countries witnessed fluctuations during the first half of 2024, amid fluctuations in global oil prices, which affected local fuel costs according to indicators issued by “Global Petroleum Price”.

Libya maintained its first place as the cheapest Arab country in gasoline prices, at a price of about 0.73 dinars per liter (0.031 US dollars) and ranked second as the lowest country in the world in terms of gasoline prices.

Egypt witnessed a movement in gasoline prices of all types and ranked second in the Arab world and fourth in the world with prices ranging between 0.23 and 0.31 US dollars per liter.

Algeria came in third place in the Arab world, as the price of unleaded gasoline reached about 0.34 US dollars per liter, followed by Kuwait, which maintained stable prices in the first quarter of the year at levels of 0.28 to 0.34 US dollars per liter.

In Qatar, gasoline prices have remained stable over the past two years, ranging between $0.54 and $0.65 per liter, while Saudi Aramco announced prices for July 2024, ranging between $0.58 and $0.62 per liter. Some Arab countries are facing high gasoline prices, with Jordan recording the highest Arab price at $1.63 per liter, followed by Morocco at $1.50 per liter and Syria at $0.997 per liter, while Lebanon and the Emirates are facing high prices of up to $0.85 and $0.82 per liter. In Sudan, the price per liter is around $0.72, which places it among the average prices in the Arab world.
