The 20th edition of the “African Lion” exercise will take place in Morocco from May 20th to 31st, with the participation of 20 countries.
This year’s exercise sees around 7,000 military personnel participate, in addition to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
According to data from the General Command of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, the “African Lion 2024” program includes land, sea, and air tactical exercises, as well as exercises dedicated to special forces, airborne forces operations, and training in combating weapons of mass destruction.
The 2023 edition focused on enhancing readiness with the participation of 8,000 military personnel and included land, air, and sea exercises, as well as biological, radiological, nuclear, and chemical cleansing exercises.
The exercise is being held in several locations, including areas in Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, and Ghana, and involves soldiers from multiple countries including Brazil, Chad, France, and the United Kingdom, with military observers from( NATO) present.
