Pictures of Tunisian national football team shirts bearing the “Carrefour” logo, which is known for its support for Israel, sparked widespread anger in Tunisia.

This came during the team’s training before its match with Guinea-Bissau, where activists expressed their denunciation of the Tunisian Football League’s dealings with companies that support Israel, demanding a boycott of the Tunisian national team.

Activist Adel Al-Saadani called for a boycott of the Tunisian national team, noting that Carrefour is considered one of Israel’s largest financiers, while activist Muhammad Manjour published pictures of Israeli soldiers carrying bags of food from Carrefour, commenting that this behavior constitutes support for brutal Zionism.

Social platform pioneers denounced the Tunisian national team’s failure to participate in the Carrefour boycott campaign, especially after the major campaign that Tunisia witnessed against the company since the beginning of the war on Gaza.

Activist Tommy Ben Farhat expressed his disappointment, saying that the national team chose to put the Carrefour logo on its shirts despite the popular boycott.

The match between Tunisia and Equatorial Guinea witnessed protests from fans at Radès Stadium, where they raised a banner reading “Carrefour is the official supporter of genocide” to express their anger.

The Carrefour Boycott Campaign Group in Tunisia issued a statement condemning the Tunisian Football League’s dealings with Carrefour, noting that this behavior is considered a disgrace to the Tunisian national team, and so far, the Football League has not issued any clarifications on the matter.
