The Palestinian Authority arrested a beggar who owns five luxury cars with his brother while driving a 2020 model car in the town of Bir Zeit, north of Ramallah.
The police published photos of the seizure and stated that they found in his possession a sum of money amounting to 15,000 shekels, as the beggar confessed to practicing this profession at intersections and roads and distributing a group of people to beg in public places.
After obtaining a search warrant from the Public Prosecution, the police raided his house and found five luxury cars belonging to him and his brother, who was later arrested.
A bag containing 8,000 shekels of coins and 22,000 shekels of banknotes was also seized, in addition to 29 Larica pills and 12 Tramal pills, which are used as narcotic drugs.
The Palestinian police confirm that they have seized the beggars and seizures and will refer them to the Public Prosecution to complete the necessary legal procedures.
It is noteworthy that begging in the Palestinian territories has become an increasing phenomenon due to the deteriorating economic conditions, which prompted some families to resort to it to meet their needs, and with the spread of this phenomenon, organized gangs have emerged that practice crime and fraud.
