The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has reported that the conflict between Sudanese army forces and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) has caused significant displacement towards South Kordofan.
In an announcement on Saturday, the organization said heavy fighting broke out between the Sudanese army and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement faction, led by Abdul Aziz al-Hilu, in the village of Kweik in the eastern countryside locality of South Kordofan.
International migration, based on the reports of its field teams, reported that these confrontations resulted in mass displacement from the territory.
About 204 families, most of whom were previously displaced from the city of Kadugli in South Kordofan, were forced to migrate again to seek shelter in different villages in the eastern countryside locality, she said.
The organization noted that the situation remains in crisis and that the course of future events is uncertain.
