Today, Thursday, August 8, marks the anniversary of the passing of the star Hind Rostom, who dazzled the world with her high-class art, femininity and softness, and then passed away on this day in 2011.
Hind Rostom began her artistic career in 1949 with a small appearance on the silver screen that some did not pay attention to. Her first appearance on the silver screen was in the movie “Ghazl Al Banat”, where she participated as a model riding a horse in the clip “Atmakhtari Ya Khayel”(walk on horse) by the star Laila Murad.
Hind Rostom’s real start in cinema was when chance led her to the office of the United Film Company, and after that she was chosen to participate in the movie “Azhar wa Ashwak” ( Flowers) and thorns n a small role with the artist Yehia Shaheen.
After this experience, Hind Rostom’s stardom began at the hands of director Hassan El Imam, who presented her in a number of films that achieved great success, such as “Ibn Hamidu” (son of Hamidu) with Ismail Yassin.
Hind Rostom stole the spotlight and began a new chapter in her artistic life, presenting the films “Struggle in the Nile”, “I Don’t Sleep”, “You Are My Love”, “Bab El Hadid”, “A Word of Honor” and “Love Rumor”, in which she appeared as a guest of honor with Soad Hosny and Omar Sharif, but she was the focus of all the events. One of the most prominent works that revealed her talent was her participation in the film ” Chafika El Keptia”, and during this stage she was able to obtain the title of Marilyn Monroe of the East.
Hind Rostom ended her artistic career with the film “My Life is Torment” which she presented in 1979. After that, she retired from art while at the height of her glory and preferred to live her life in complete peace, away from the spotlight.
