The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Elections Authority in Egypt announced the victory of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in the presidential elections after obtaining 39 million and 702 thousand and 451 votes of the total valid votes, with a percentage of 89.6%.

Hazem Omar won second place with 4.5% of the total votes (1,986,352 votes), while Farid Zahran received 4% of the votes in third place (1,776,952 votes), and Abdul Sanad Yamama received 1.9% of the votes in fourth place (822,606 votes).

The executive body of the National Authority reviewed the results of the counting at home, included the results of the sorting abroad and presented them collectively to the Board of Directors of the National Authority, which approved the final result of the presidential elections.

The National Elections Authority announced that it did not receive any appeals from candidates in the presidential elections or their agents against the decisions issued by the public committees on the voting process, during the scheduled date for this procedure, which is specified in the timetable for the electoral process throughout last Thursday, December 14.

In addition, the general committees at the level of the Republic did not receive any grievances from the candidates or their representatives, regarding all matters related to the voting process, during the scheduled dates specified for the beginning of the voting days until the end of the counting work and the announcement of the numerical count of votes in each general committee.

Article 241 bis of the Egyptian Constitution stipulates that “the term of the current President of the Republic shall expire at the expiration of six years from the date of his election as President of the Republic in 2018, and he may be re-elected for a subsequent time.”
