Libya’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Sadiq al-Ghariani, said that paying money to perform Umrah many times is a waste of money, stressing that supporting the people of Gaza and the resistance should be the priority.

Ghariani stressed that it is inappropriate for Muslims to believe that competing to perform Umrah is considered the best form of worship, especially since the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip are subjected to the ordeal of killing and siege, because it is considered “inattention and incorrect behavior.”

Sheikh Ghariani criticized the demand for restaurants that support Israel, saying that the money spent there is used to oppress and kill Gazans, and called for avoiding these places.

Ghariani warned against being drawn into claims by Israel and the United States about the establishment of a sea crossing for Gaza relief, describing it as a “Zionist invention.”

Al-Ghariani addressed Muslims, saying: “Is it possible, O Muslim, that America delivers aid to the people of Gaza while they kill them, because you give your weapons to your enemy.”

The mufti stressed that providing relief to the people of Gaza does not need convoys and crossings, but rather a ceasefire.
