The drilling vessel “Stena Fourth Drillship” has arrived on the coast of Larache to begin a new phase of gas exploration in the Moroccan Kingdom.

A report by “I Digital” revealed that the vessel’s arrival is a reinforcement of agreements signed by Morocco for licensing and exploration with “Charriot” and “Energy” in December 2023.

These agreements provide for ownership sharing in the exploration areas, with “Energy” taking over specific proportions of operations in the Lixawi and Risana areas.

Drilling work will begin on two evaluation and development wells in the eastern Anshuis region, with an optional well added to the plans.

Drilling and testing operations are expected to take place in the third quarter of 2024 to assess the expected significant gas potential.
