The coordinator of the joint bid for Spain, Portugal and Morocco for the 2030 World Cup, Antonio Larangó, revealed that Lisbon will not host the final of the world tournament, which means that the competition will be limited to Rabat and Madrid.

“Portugal does not have this stadium (which has at least 80,000 seats) and will not make investments to expand the capacity of the stadiums, which means it will not host the World Cup final,” Larango said in a press statement.

FIFA announced that the 2030 edition will be held in Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, while the first 3 matches will be played in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the competition.

The opening match of the 2030 World Cup is scheduled to be played at the Centenario Stadium in Uruguay, which hosted the first edition in 1930, which will witness the centenary of the World Cup.
