The security authorities in Tangier announced their success in solving the mystery of a murder in which a forty-year-old woman was the victim. Her dismembered and burned body was found inside a suitcase in a farming area on the outskirts of the city.

The “Law 360” website reported that members of the Royal Gendarmerie were able to arrest the main accused in the crime, a man who disappeared from sight immediately after he committed the crime in late May, and the security authorities issued a national search warrant against him, which helped track him down and arrest him.

The incident began with the discovery of a suitcase in a remote area, which contained the remains of the victim, who was found to have worked in a barbershop before becoming the manager of a café in Tangier.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim, who comes from the outskirts of Meknes, had an emotional relationship with the suspect.

The accused is scheduled to be handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie in Tangier for interrogation under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, amid expectations that more details will be revealed about the motives of this heinous crime.
