Media sources announced that dozens of Iranian fighters were killed and wounded in 9 American air strikes that targeted military headquarters and a weapons shipment strikes on the border region of Boukamal and its environs near the Syrian-Iraqi border.

According to a Syrian Observatory sources, members of non-Syrian nationalities were among the dead, as a shipment of weapons, vehicles, and an ammunition warehouse were  targeted on the border region of Boukamal

On December 27, loud explosions were heard resulting from an unknown drone targeting a site near the Marmara oil well in the Boukamal desert in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, within the areas controlled by the Syrian army and Iranian sites, as the Iranian camps there include a number of heavy machinery for digging tunnels, no human casualties were mentioned.

A security source told Al-Arabiya channel that air strikes targeted positions belonging to the Fatemiyoun Brigade inside Syrian territory near the border strip with Iraq near the city of Al-Qaim. Media outlets close to the Iraqi militias reported that the bombing on the Syrian Albukamal caused the deaths of Lebanese.

Prior to that, Iraqi armed factions claimed responsibility for an attack on the Harir Air Base, north of Erbil Governorate, northern Iraq.

Iraqi security sources reported that an attack had occurred targeting the base, explaining that it was carried out by a plane with a bomb-laden drone, without mentioning outcome of the attack.

Iraqi armed factions said, on Friday, that they targeted the US‘ AlShaddadi base in the northeastern Syrian city of Hasakah in northeastern Syria with missiles.

This comes after the factions, which call themselves the “Islamic Resistance in Iraq,” earlier today claimed responsibility for an attack on the American Kharab al-Jir base in the Hasakah countryside, which the Syrian Observatory said caused violent explosions.
