A report published by the French newspaper “L’Equipe” stated that Mbappe, who played seven years with the club, has not received these dues since last April.
According to Article 259 of the Charter of Professional Football in France, clubs are supposed to pay salaries to their contracted players by the last day of every month.
For its part, Paris Saint-Germain confirmed that negotiations are still ongoing to settle this issue, without revealing other details.
In a related context, Spanish club Real Madrid announced in June the signing of a free transfer contract with Mbappe, where the player is scheduled to receive a signing bonus amounting to 150 million euros paid over five years.
It is expected that Mbappe will be officially presented to Real Madrid fans in a large ceremony at the Cintiga Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid in mid-July, following the end of the 2024 European Cup.
Kylian Mbappe’s relationship with Paris Saint-Germain went through a crisis during the recent period, and press sources reported that the club’s management did not fulfill some of the promises made to Mbappe when signing his new contract, and also refused to give him a more role in the team, with his feeling that he did not get enough opportunities to shine and prove his abilities.
There were also some reports of disagreements between Mbappe and the team’s former coach, Mauricio Pochettino, regarding the style of play and the distribution of roles.
