The Mauritanian Ministry of Interior and Decentralization announced in a statement the opening of the border crossing “Ould El-Bardi” between Mauritania and Algeria.
The ministry said in its statement that the opening of the crossing came under the guidance of Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani and his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The statement added that the opening of the crossing comes “with the aim of facilitating the smooth passage of people and goods to and from the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria”.
The statement also added that this comes “as an embodiment of the will of the leaders of the two countries and their constant aspiration to raise the ceiling of exchanges and cooperation and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, friendship and good neighborliness.”
