English club Manchester United announced that it will not sign a contract with Moroccan international player Sofiane Amrabat from Italian club Fiorentina during the current summer transfer period, despite the presence of a clause in the loan contract allowing the player to be purchased for 20 million euros.
Player transfer market expert, Italian Fabrizio Romano, conveyed through his official account on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter), that Manchester United informed Fiorentina of its decision not to activate the purchase option, but at the same time he indicated that the English club is still interested in including the player and is ready to discuss it. The deal has different terms.
Romano explained that coach Erik ten Hag admires Amrabat’s performance and wants to keep him in the squad. Romano added that there are other clubs interested in signing Sofiane Amrabat this summer.
It is noteworthy that Sofiane Amrabat, 27 years old, participated in 30 matches with Manchester United in various competitions last season, without scoring or assisting any goal.
Although Amrabat’s start with United was modest and he did not appear at his usual level, his performance improved in the final rounds of last season, and he became an essential element in coach Erik ten Hag’s squad.
