Moscow hosted many leaders and officials, especially from African and Arab countries in particular, to participate in the celebration of the seventy-ninth anniversary of the Victory over Nazism.

The prominent participation, which is the first in years for the state of Libya, which is witnessing a political crisis since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi’s rule in 2011, was where a representative of the General Command of the Libyan Army, Colonel Khaled Haftar, along with some leaders, participated in attending the military parade for Victory Day on one of the platforms in Red Square.

Two days ago, Colonel Haftar arrived in Moscow and met with the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African States, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, where they exchanged views on many issues.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the main focus during the conversation was on the task of uniting all national political and regional forces in order to ensure the unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of Libya.

Russia is working to stand at the same distance with all Libyan political parties to reach a solution to get out of its crisis that has been pending for more than 12 years after the fall of Muammar Gaddafi’s rule, as Moscow is trying to push all political parties to sit at the same table to develop a road map that helps the country rise, hold elections, and alleviate the suffering of the people.

The Libyan government, backed by Army Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Khalifa Belkacem Haftar, is working to strengthen its relationship with Moscow, as Russia has contributed to providing all kinds of support in developing infrastructure to serve and alleviate the suffering of the population in areas that have witnessed conflicts between political parties.

She encouraged the government of Osama Hammad to take advantage of the relationship with Moscow to ease political pressure from some Western countries that seek to destabilize eastern Libya, which is witnessing stagnation in all security and economic fields, unlike the western Libya, which is run by the government of Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, which neglected everything related to the lives of the population at the expense of serving the interests of some Western countries.
