The Libyan Under-23 Wheelchair Basketball Team achieved a great achievement by winning the North African Championship, which qualified it to qualify for the African Finals scheduled in Libya next January.

The Libyan team was crowned after the conclusion of the North African Championship qualifiers, which witnessed strong competition and a large official presence.

The celebration held on this occasion was attended by the Chairman of the Paralympic Committee, Khaled Al-Raqibi, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, Bashir Hashem, along with a number of officials.

As part of the celebration, many speeches were delivered praising the achievement of the Libyan team and its aspirations to participate in the 2025 Wheelchair Basketball World Cup.

The participating teams and their technical staff were also honored, in addition to distributing certificates of excellence to those who passed the training and refereeing courses organized on the sidelines of the tournament.

It is worth noting that Libya had the honor of hosting the African finals qualifying for the World Cup in Britain, in a move that enhances the status of sports in the country and highlights the increasing support for athletes with special needs.

The Libyan national team won the 2024 Triple Crown Basketball Championship Cup, an achievement that is the first of its kind at the Arab and African levels.
