Member of the Libyan State Council, Saad bin Sharada, confirmed that the Deputy Head of the UN Mission, Stephanie Khoury, is working to imitate Stephanie Williams in implementing American policy inside Libya.

During his recent speech, Ben Sharada criticized Khoury’s way of dealing, noting that her recent statements before the Security Council reflect the continuity of attempts to manage the conflict instead of resolving it, in light of the existing discrepancy between the major influential countries.

Bin Sharada explained that the changing circumstances on the ground in Libya prevent the repetition of the previous American model, considering that American intervention historically did not serve the stability of Libya.

He stressed that the current differences between the permanent members of the Security Council hinder their agreement on a unified solution that ends the protracted Libyan crisis.

Stephanie Williams served as Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya from February 2022 to July 2022.
