Libyan Prime Minister Osama Hammad announced his categorical rejection of the decision of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, to lift subsidies on fuel of all kinds.
The Libyan government, headed by Osama Hammad, published a “fiery” statement in response to Dabaiba’s recent decision, the most prominent of which stated:
– Dabaiba does not have the legitimacy to lift fuel subsidies.
– The decision to lift subsidies can only be issued by a legislative authority elected by the Libyan people.
– We are surprised that this timing was chosen by a government that spent two years of usurping power and wasting public money and caused an unprecedented deficit.
– The purpose of this decision is to seize more money and will not provide the alternative and his breaking of the covenants is the best witness to this.
– We are on the threshold of a month Ramadan needs us to work to reduce the burden on the citizen and we warn against this decision.
– We will work to implement the judiciary’s decision regarding the appointment of judicial guards over Libyan oil funds.
