The Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Government of National Unity said that the Minister Mohammed Oun discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Libya, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Shehri, the possibility of Saudi investors entering into the development of stalled Libyan factories for the manufacture of petroleum spare parts.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the Libyan and Saudi sides stressed the necessity of exchanging visits to benefit from expertise and manufacturing technologies in Saudi Arabia, and in the field of developing oil and shale gas, in which Saudi Arabia recorded steps in the developmental drilling stage for oil and shale gas, and to view industrial products supporting oil operations, such as production pipes and drilling fluids.
Oun expressed his gratitude for the positions of the Saudi ambassador and his government with Libya during its previous crises, and his commendable stances alongside Libya when it was exempted from reducing its oil export quota in more than one session of the meetings of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
“These positions were well received and appreciated by the government and the Libyan people.” Oun indicated, while Saudi Chargé d’Affaires reaffirmed his happiness at the continuation of joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of oil and energy, and the Kingdom’s endeavor to provide means of stability in Libya.
