Member of the Advisory Council of State, Mohamed Moazib, considered that resolving the problem of forming the new government faces difficulties due to the limited possibilities of removing Mohamed Takala from the presidency of the Council.
Moazib said, in statements reported by Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, that “there is a non-negligible bloc of council members, including me, that does not cling to the head of the interim government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, or Batakala, as much as it seeks to end the transitional phase by heading to presidential elections based on constitutional foundations.”
Moazib explained that there is a bloc that includes about 61 members of the State Council demanding a new road map, which includes changing the current Dbeibeh government and holding immediate legislative elections, stressing the rejection of the conditions for running for the presidency stipulated in the new election law.
Moazib confirmed that there is another group that believes that the current electoral laws cannot be amended, which delays the resolution of the current political crisis.
