The Libyan city of Benghazi hosted a security meeting chaired by the Minister of Interior in the Libyan government, Major General Essam Abu Zeriba, to discuss the security situation in the city and enhance cooperation between Libyan agencies, departments and security directorates.
Senior Libyan security officials participated in the meeting.
The Libyan government stated that the Libyan Minister of Interior discussed with the assembled parties the security plan followed to protect the city of Benghazi.
She added that the security measures currently taken were reviewed and their effectiveness in ensuring stability and safety within the city was assessed, in addition to discussing the fight against drug smuggling and illegal immigration.
