The President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, discussed at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli with the Special Envoy of the French President to Libya, Paul Soler, in the presence of the French Ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Maharaj, the settlement of the Libyan crisis.

At the beginning of the meeting, the French envoy stressed his country’s keenness on the need to continue the state of stability in Libya, and its support for the President of the Council in all his steps to address the political stalemate and ensure that elections are held in an appropriate environment in which all Libyans participate.

The meeting touched on the bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields, in addition to France’s support for the work of the Supreme Finance Committee to achieve the application of standards of disclosure, transparency, rationalization of spending and justice in the use of financial resources to implement development projects.

For his part, Al-Menfi stressed France’s pivotal role in the Libyan issue and its unlimited support for the work of the Presidential Council in preparation for free, fair and transparent elections as soon as possible.
