The heads of the Federations of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Libya, Algeria and Tunisia signed an agreement aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and encouraging inter-trade between the three countries.
The Ministry of Economy and Trade in the outgoing Libyan Government of National Unity stated in a statement on ‘Facebook’ that the agreement aims to achieve economic cooperation at the private sector level, by organizing forums for companies and business owners.
The agreement seeks to unify efforts to ensure the flow of goods according to the specifications and standard criteria adopted in the three countries, activate the role of the private sector in investing in free zones, and integrate youth into joint investment projects targeted by the Ministry of Economy and Trade, according to the statement.
The ministry indicated that the agreement includes coordinating work with the relevant government agencies to restart inter-trade lines, open land crossings, and operate sea lines, with the aim of facilitating trade exchange and facilitating the movement of businessmen between the three countries.
The agreement was signed by the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Libya, Mohamed Al-Raid, and his counterparts, the President of the Tunisian Union of Industries and Trade, Samir Majoul, and the President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, Kamal Moula.
