The opening activities of the twelfth season of the Fezzan Desert Rally Festival kicked off on Saturday at the ancient castle in the city of Sabha, under the auspices of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces and under the supervision of the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces, Major General Saddam Haftar.
The ceremony was attended by hundreds of racers, including SUV and motorcycle drivers from various cities and regions of Libya and from several Arab and foreign countries.
The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by the commander of the military region of Sebha, Major General Fawzi Al-Mansouri, a number of notables and notables of the Fezzan tribes, leaders of the security and military agencies in the municipalities of the south, and crowds of those interested in sports activities and SUV and motorcycle racing.
The opening ceremony began with skydiving shows by members of the Tariq bin Ziyad Brigade of the Armed Forces and various artistic performances representing authentic Libyan art and heritage.
The festival’s higher organizing committee distributed participants to resorts and camps in the city of Sabha and made final arrangements for the start of the competition on Sunday near the Lake of Aoun’s Tomb in southern Libya.
