On Tuesday, the House of Representatives approved the draft state budget law for the year 2024 submitted by the government mandated by the Council headed by Osama Hammad, worth 90 billion dinars.
The session began with the House offering condolences to Speaker of the House of Representatives Aguila Saleh on the death of his son.
House of Representatives spokesman Abdullah Belhaq said in a post on his Facebook page that the House discussed in its official session, headed by First Deputy Speaker Fawzi Al-Noueiri, the terms of the draft general budget law in the presence of members of the budget preparation committee at the Ministry of Planning and Finance.
After discussions, the Council unanimously approved the budget and decided to form a joint committee between the government and the Council to introduce amendments and observations of deputies, before signing them and referring them to the government and publication.
The committee is expected to submit its observations and the required amendments within a maximum of one week for inclusion and signing the law.
Khalifa al-Daghari, a member of the House of Representatives, said the parliament approved the budget law submitted by the government, which is charged with a value of 90 billion dinars, and this value could change during the discussions, especially in the items of support and salaries.
