Ahmed Masoud, Director of the National Center for Examinations, announced his resignation live during the broadcast of the ceremony announcing the results of the preparatory certificate, justifying his decision by his inability to work under “the current circumstances.”
The announcement came during the ceremony for accrediting and announcing the results of the preparatory certificate, which was organized by the Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government.
The Ministry thanked the education supervisors for their efforts and use of surveillance cameras to ensure the integrity of the exams, noting that this procedure may be adopted permanently in the future.
The Ministry of Education announced that the success rate in religious education was 53%, and in schools for the deaf and mute, 87%, while the success rate in general education was 60%.
The Ministry explained that the number of applicants for the exams reached 210,000 male and female students, of whom 127,000 passed, while 83,000 failed, reflecting an overall success rate of 60%.
The Ministry also indicated that with regard to errors contained in exam questions, a grade was awarded for each question that included a typographical or scientific error to students, to ensure that their results were not affected by these errors.
