The Libyan Public Prosecutor announced the identification of the body of the Libyan Deputy Public Prosecutor, Hamza Mohamed Saqr, after he was kidnapped by unknown assailants years ago.
In an official statement, the Attorney General mourned the Counsel Al-Siddiq Al-Sur, Prosecutor Saqr, confirming their identification after identifying his body, and offered his condolences to his family and relatives.
Saqr was reportedly killed for defending guaranteed rights, and the prosecutor explained that the Public Prosecution strives to ensure and protect the rights of the slain prosecutor.
Last week, the General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons announced the identification of the body of the slain prosecutor through DNA, which was among the victims of mass graves in Tarhuna in 2020.
The General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons noted that with this result, “the number of cases identified through the laboratories of the General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons reaches 346 cases,” stressing that the conformity report will be referred to the Attorney General’s Office.
