The President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, received an official invitation on Sunday to join the leaders of Arab countries at the thirty-third Arab summit to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the middle of this month.
The invitation was extended by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and handed over by Bahrain’s ambassador to Libya, Abdulaziz Mohammed Abdullah Al-Eid, according to the media office of the President of the Presidential Council.
Since taking office in 2021, Mohamed El Menfi has received two invitations from the League of Arab States, where he participated for the first time in the thirty-second Arab Summit held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 2023, and Menfi attended the thirty-first Arab Summit in Algiers in 2022.
It is noteworthy that this summit is the first to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain during the date of the ordinary and emergency Arab summits, and that Libya joined the League on December 14, 1953.
