Libya ranked third globally and first in the Arab world in importing Russian diesel in 2023, according to a report published by the British newspaper “Financial Times”.
Libya bought nearly 1.5 million barrels per month of Russian diesel at the end of last year, making it third globally in this context, followed by Ghana in fourth place with purchases of less than 1.5 million barrels per month.
Brazil ranked first in the world with 6.1 million tons of diesel fuel from Russia, worth 4.5 billion dollars.
Turkey ranked second in the world, buying about 4 million barrels of Russian diesel per month at the end of last year.
These figures reflect a marked increase in demand for Russian diesel globally, with escalating international trade and many countries relying on external energy sources.
