A member of the Libyan House of Representatives, Abdul Salam Nasiya, participated in the work of the 33rd session of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, which was held on Tuesday in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
The work of the committee included discussing the report of the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award Committee, in addition to restructuring the special committees, including the legal team resulting from the Executive Committee, and also discussing the agenda of the next session and the draft agenda of the thirty-sixth conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, in addition to determining the venue of its convening.
Within the framework of submitting recommendations, the Committee approved the approval of the report of the Secretary-General and the report of the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Committee and submitted them to the next conference for approval.
The agenda of the thirty-sixth conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union was also adopted, and the Committee welcomed the invitation of the Algerian Parliamentary Division to host it in late April.
During the discussions, Nassieh demanded that the Palestinian cause and the suffering of the people of Gaza be among the priorities of the next parliamentary conference.
It is noteworthy that the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union was established after the thirteenth conference of the Union and takes the follow-up of the work of the General Secretariat and the study of the proposals of the parliamentary divisions among its main tasks.
