Libya’s Administrative Control Authority (ACA) has temporarily suspended the oil and gas minister, the authority said on its official “Facebook page”.
The head of the commission, Abdullah Qadirboh, issued a decision to suspend the Minister of Oil and Gas in Tripoli pending investigation into the facts of Case No. 178, without revealing further details about the case.
In a related context, a source at the Ministry of Oil told Reuters that the ministry has not received a copy of the decision so far, while the name of the minister concerned was revealed only by the first three letters of his name only.
The Administrative Control Authority is responsible for overseeing the performance of the government, with powers that include vetoing appointments to positions and promoting public accountability.
