National Accord Bloc of the High Council of State welcomed the briefing of Abdoulaye Bathily, UN Special Representative for Libya, before the UN Security Council.

The bloc expressed its admiration for Bathily assertions about the importance of forming a new unified government leading country towards elections stage based on the foundations of consensus.

The bloc stressed the importance of adhering to the Skhirat Political Agreement, calling on all Libyan parties to assume their responsibilities. The Accord Bloc called on the House of Representatives and the State to begin immediate consultations to form a new government.

The bloc called on the international community to respect the will of the Libyan people, warning against repeating the mistakes that the country witnessed in previous years of division and faltering in the political scene.

The Accord Bloc announced its support for consensus with Parliament on electoral laws and constitutional legislation, within the framework of the time plan for forming the Bashagha government in the year 2022.
