Libyan National Army (LNA) commander Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar received the head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service, Major General Abbas Kamel, and his accompanying delegation at Libya’s General Headquarters.
The talks during the meeting focused on discussing political developments in Libya, the importance of supporting the political process, as well as supporting simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections as a step towards lasting stability in the country.
Kamel praised the efforts of the General Command of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces led by Field Marshal Haftar in controlling security and achieving stability, stressing Egypt’s support for all steps that contribute to achieving stability in Libya.
For his part, Field Marshal Haftar praised the important role played by Egypt in achieving a political settlement in Libya, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of security and politics.
This visit and the talks between the two sides are an important step towards strengthening bilateral cooperation and stabilizing Libya and the region in general.
