Libya’s Criminal Investigation Service (CIA) announced its success in freeing a large group of illegal immigrants from the hands of criminal gangs in the southern regions, where 79 migrants were freed from the kidnappers’ cells.
The migrants were freed after a security operation carried out by the mobile CID forces in cooperation with the forces of the CID branch in Sabha, where a gang formation consisting of men and women was caught kidnapping illegal immigrants and detaining them to demand ransom money from their families.
Investigations have revealed the existence of a gang formation that lures African migrants in the city of Sabha by deluding them of the existence of work for them, then they detain them inside cells and contact their families to demand ransom.
