According to the 2024 report by the International Institute for Economics and Peace on measuring the impact of terrorism on countries, Libya has emerged from the most affected countries to a lesser degree.
The head of the Libyan government in charge of the House of Representatives, Osama Hammad, said in a statement: “With our review of the report, we can only appreciate the role of the General Command of the Armed Forces led by Khalifa Haftar, and the sacrifices of the members of the military institution in all liberation battles in all cities and regions in eastern, central and southern Libya from the filth of terrorism and the tampering of tamperers and corrupters.”
“The cities of the east, south and central Libya have become an honorable model in establishing security and reducing crime rates,” Hammad said.
The establishment of security and the reduction in crime rates “helped provide the appropriate environment for the launch of the wheel of development and reconstruction by the Libyan government, the Reconstruction and Stability Committee, the Derna and Affected Areas Reconstruction Fund, and the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, to preserve the sacrifices made in order to achieve security and stability in Libya and provide the requirements of life for our generous and patient people”, Hammad said.
