The Director of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, Belkacem Haftar, under the direct directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces Khalifa Haftar, inaugurated Libya’s first automated landing machine (ILS) at Benina International Airport.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Director of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority, Mohamed Shlebek, and the directors of airlines at the airport, and this device is the first of its kind to be installed and operated at Libyan airports.

The specialists praised the speed of completion of this project, which is considered one of the most important navigational devices for air traffic and safety, and this achievement is in line with international specifications for aircraft movement, and the radar device that receives aircraft from long distances has been operated, making Benina Airport the first Libyan airport to include these completely new devices in accordance with international aviation standards.
