Libya’s Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) announced the deportation of 95 migrants to Egypt and Pakistan.
The agency said 75 irregular migrants with Egyptian nationality were deported through the Musaed land crossing last Thursday.
The agency pointed out that 20 irregular migrants of Pakistani nationality were also handed over to the Ganfouda shelter, in preparation for their deportation through the port of Benina International Airport in the city of Benghazi.
The agency explained that the extradition of the migrants was carried out by the deportation unit of the agency’s office in Tamimi, under the supervision of Lieutenant Abdul Hakim Khairallah, and on the instructions of the head of the agency, Major General Nouri al-Saadi.
Earlier, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced the rescue and return of 442 migrants to Libya during the first days of February, bringing the toll to 1,004 irregular migrants since the beginning of 2024.
