Under the patronage of Prime Minister of the Government of National Stability Osama Hammad, the Africa Migration Conference - Sustainable Solutions for Africa was launched in Benghazi. Over 40 African delegations attended the conference.

In his speech, Osama Hammad, underlined the need for “a global vision and formula to develop sustainable strategies to address the causes and consequences of migration”, while encouraging “the exchange of information between African countries within the protection and guarantee of migrants’ rights, in collaboration with international organisations”.

Participants in the conference in Benghazi include the president of the Libyan parliament based in the east of the country, Aguila Saleh, and the president of the Pan-African Parliament, Fortune Charumbira.

The conference took place while the prime minister of the Libyan government of national unity  Abdulhamid Dabaiba, is in Rome to participate in the Italy-Africa Conference, dedicated to the presentation of the Mattei Plan, aimed at developing the African continent and stemming the deepest causes of irregular emigration.
