The University of Benghazi in Libya plans to include the Russian language in the educational program of a number of its faculties, and that it is ready to accept teachers and students from Russia by the end of this year, 360 reported.
“By the end of the year, the entire university complex in Benghazi is scheduled to be completed, and of course this includes housing for teachers and houses for students,” said University of Benghazi President Ezzedine Younis Hussein al-Drissi.
“Everything will be at the highest level, and we are very much looking forward to cooperating with Russian universities, and even if it is not possible to bring teachers directly from Russia, we will turn to colleagues from Egypt who have extensive experience in teaching Russian,” Drissi said.
“We have a language department where they teach French, Italian and English, I would like to add Russian there, the Russian language is very important, some of our students have received scholarships and are now studying in the Russian Federation, and they will soon get a master’s degree,” Drissi continued.
“Let’s hope that cooperation between the University of Benghazi and Russian universities reaches a new level,” Drissi concluded.
